Reporting to the Principal Solution Engineer for our Cloud squad, you'll join a team of experienced Platform Engineers and collaborate closely with other product teams, our Security team as well as our AWS partners.
Your Role:
There is no typical working week at Flybuys. But here are some of the things you might be working on, day-to-day;

• Design and implementation AWS cloud, container and virtual platforms
• Maintain and enhance infrastructure as code capabilities
• Define DevOps best practices for our application development teams and assist them in engaging these processes
• Assist with release, and maintenance of software applications
• Assist application teams in leveraging external and internal cloud services
• Ensure best practice for the adoption and ongoing consumption of AWS cloud services from various lens (automation, operations and security)

Your Ideal Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience working in a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer role or similar
• Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure and platform services
• Strong AWS cloud experience and automation & orchestration of the various cloud environment across the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC)
• Working in cross-functional Agile teams with knowledge across concepts and methodologies.
• Hands-on experience using Agile Tools like Atlassian JIRA, Confluence.
• Experience in complex, large-team technical environments requiring prompt resolution and strategic actions.
• Solid experience working with AWS services not limited to Cloudfront, EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, RDS, SNS, SQS, Lambda, StepFunctions etc.
• Hands-on experience using Cloudformation, preferable using AWS CDK.
• Hands-on experience with Container technology like Docker, ECS, EKS and best practice use from an operations and security perspective.
• Development experience in Python, TypeScript, Java, Golang or similar
• Good understanding of CI/CD toolset like Gitlab CI and git-based workflow.
• Experience building cloud infrastructure pipelines, automation and release process.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
